Last year I was able to try a lot of delicious food during my visits in our local restaurants and cafes.

For the last part of 2017 Favorites I am featuring my favorite dishes. Coming up with this list was hard; there were definitely a lot of great dishes from last year. Some of the food that will be listed here will just be featured now.

In this list I will also be sharing my favorite places to have breakfast, lunch, merienda, dinner, and for desserts.

FAVORITE DISHES

Katsu Country’s Katsudon

I enjoy some good Japanese food and I think my favorite dish is the Katsudon. After visiting many Japanese restaurants in the city, my favorite Katsudon has got to be the one by Katsu Country. I love how flavorful the dish is and its generous serving. I also love that dried seaweed strip that goes with the dish. In terms of looks, its mouthwatering.

Rekado’s Longganisa Skillet

While I usually order the Tosilog at restaurants when it is available, Rekado’s Longganisa piqued my interest when I saw it on the menu. I was definitely not disappointed with dish. It was simply a delicious dish that was beautifully presented. Mix the longganisa and egg, then put it on your pandesal, and enjoy!

Rekado’s Chicken Adobo sa Gata

“Chicken Adobo sa Gata. This all-time Filipino favorite is delicious in itself but the coconut milk takes this dish to another level by adding creaminess to the sauce. ” – Rekado

Another great dish from Rekado. This was my first time having adobo with gata (coconut milk). I was not expecting that it would taste so good. It was an awesome take on the classic Filipino favorite.

Sea Green Cafe’s Fish Flakes Rice Bowl

When the dish was served, I had second thoughts about how it will taste. However, after mixing the toppings and the rice, it became a delicious breakfast. I just love how flavorful those fish flakes were and the fresh tomatoes added texture and color to the dish. At first glance, it looked like a heavy dish but surprisingly it was not.

Spark’s Bacon, Cheese, and Egg Waffles

This is my happy food. When I feel down, stressed, or just looking for something good to eat to make me happy, I drop by at Spark Coffee+Crafts and order their Bacon, Cheese, and Egg Waffles, which is simply delicious. I just love the balance of saltiness and sweetness of the dish. I also love how beautifully the dish is presented. From the looks of it alone, it is mouthwatering already. This is a good example of a beautiful dish that is also delicious.

FAVORITE RESTAURANTS OR CAFES

Favorite restaurant or cafe for Breakfast: Rekado

Of all the restaurants and cafe I went to, Rekado takes the spot as my favorite place for breakfast. You have options of favorite classic Filipino breakfast dishes, some that are classically cooked the way we like it and others given a twist. Their food here is delicious and resonably priced. I also love the casual feeling of the place during the breakfast hours.

Rekado is located along Jacinto Ext. It is open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm.

Favorite restaurant or cafe for Lunch: Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp.

Lachi’s offers a great selection of comfort food that will really satisfy the taste buds of its diners. While food presentation is simple, the quality and taste of the food here is great. The food is affordably priced and I think you are getting more that what you paid for. Aside from the delcious meals, Lachi’s also offers a delicious selection of desserts.

Lachi’s is located at Marfori Heights. It is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm

Favorite restaurant or cafe for Merienda: Spark Coffee + Crafts

Opened during the first quarter of last year, Spark Coffee + Crafts is also one of my favorite coffee shops from last year. The coffee shop offers a great cup of coffee and coffee-based drinks. They also serve a good number of delicious food, like their sandwiches and waffles, that are great for merienda. I also find the ambiance of the place to be great for those who want to spend time together.

Spark is located at the Paseo Uno Building in Marfori Heights. It is open from 10:00am to 10:00pm on Monday to Thursday; 10:00am to 12 midnight on Friday and Saturday; and 2:00pm to 9:00pm on Sunday.

Favorite restaurant or cafe for Dinner: Sea Green Cafe

From a heavy breakfast, lunch, and merienda, it would be great to cap the night off with a light meal. Sea Green Cafe offers just that, light but filling dishes. For a restaurant offering healthier options, the price of their dishes are reasonably priced. The same time the food here are also delicious whether it is a salad, rice meal, or pasta.

Sea Green Cafe is located at Jacinto Extension near Barangay 10-A barangay hall. It is open daily from 8:00am to 10:00pm

Favorite desserts place: Lachi’s Sans Rival Atbp.

There are a number of desserts places I visited last year and all of them served desserts that were simply sinfully delicious. However, my favorite desserts place has to go to Lachi’s. Whatever dessert I ordered from their menu has always been delicious. The Durian Cheesecake, Creme Brulee Cake, and their Sans Rival are just among the desserts that you should really try.

There you have it guys! My favorite coffee shops, desserts, meals, and restaurants for 2017. I hope this list will help you in your next food trip with your family or friends.
