A date with Lara Mia

August was quite a stressful month for me with the Kadayawan Festival and other events on the side.

In the middle of one of the busy weeks, I decided to have lunch at Lara Mia Cafe and Bistro to simply take a breath from the craziness happening around me.

THE PLACE

Located at Juna Subdivision, Lara Mia is a very cozy cafe. I see myself spending my day here on a rainy afternoon just reading a book and relaxing. I also love their seats, which I find to be comfortable.

I also have to note that their comfort room was very clean and did not smell bad when I visited Lara Mia.

THE FOOD

For my lunch here, I ordered the Cream of Forest Mushroom Soup (P100) to start the meal. Then I had the Chorizo and Gambas Pasta (P220) for my main course. For dessert I had the Trianon (P150) and the Pie Pineapple Apple Pie (P120). I also ordered a cup of Americano (P70) to go along with my desserts.

Cream of Forest Mushroom Soup

The Cream of Forest Mushroom Soup was delicious. One of the better tasting mushroom soups I had. It was flavorful. It was rich but not heavy. The croutons also added texture to the dish.

Chorizo and Gambas Pasta

I was not a fan of the Chorizo and Gambas Pasta. It was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. The shrimps also did not seem to taste fresh. It was not that bad though since I was still able to finish it. Also, I think the pasta was beautifully cooked. However, I wished I ordered something else.

The Pie Pineapple Apple Pie was great! I love the crumble on top. The pineapple and apple went well together.

Trianon

The star of my meal here was their Trianon, which is dark chocolate mousse with peanut butter crunch. I love desserts that has the classic chocolate-peanut butter combination and this dessert from Lara Mia was divine. The peanut butter crunch elevated the dessert with the added crunch. The dessert was also not very sweet. This definitely makes the list as one of my favorite desserts to date.

Meanwhile, the Americano I had to go along with my desserts was also good.

THE SERVICE

The service I got during my visit was pretty good. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

My soup was served around 15 minutes after ordering while the pasta was served five minutes later. The dessert were also served within five minutes after I asked it to be served.

BOTTOM LINE

I quite enjoyed my lunch here at Lara Mia Cafe and Bistro. While I was not a fan of the pasta I had, the other food I ordered were overall good, especially the desserts. In terms of the price, I think it was high on the side but I think it was worth it. The service was also pretty good.

I would love to come back here another time and try the other dishes they have to offer.

I would also recommend this place for those who are looking for a cozy place to have a meal alone, with a friend, or with your family.
