Inside the Cow

In the last three years, Chef Patrick Co’s Fat Cow has grown to become one of the must visit restaurants in Davao City.

In the Cow

Recently, the 23-year old chef hosted a lunch for members of the media at the In the Cow, the private dining room of Fat Cow. The dining room was formerly Dairy, which has now been transferred to the main restaurant.

Sweet Potato Brioche

We started the meal with the Sweet Potato Brioche with a side of butter and Chef Patrick’s tomato spread. This bread was really delicious and it was soft but not airy. As always, the sweet tomato spread is a winner.

Minutes later, the main event began. For our lunch Chef Patrick prepared Pasta Telefono, Wagyu MB6 Striploin, and Fish and Chips with Katsubushi Tartar and Olive Pate.

Telefono Pasta

The Telefono Pasta was a great way to start the meal. I like that it has a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and saltiness. The pasta was also wonderfully cooked.

Wagyu MB6 Striploin

The Wagyu MB6 Striploin was the winner of the meals served. I am no steak expert but this was really delicious. It was well seasoned and it was really tender. With a Marble Score of 6, the Wagyu served to us was of high quality.

Yum!
Fish and Chips with Katsubushi Tartar and Olive Pate

The Fish and Chips with Katsubushi Tartar and Olive Pate was Fat Cow’s own take on the classic dish. Chef Patrick used Maya Maya (snapper) instead of the traditional Cream Dory. I love how flavorful the fillet is and it was not oily too. The Katsubushi Tartar was also great.

For dessert, we were served freshly baked Pecan Tart and Cream Puff.

Cream Puff

The Cream Puff has to be the biggest cream puff I have seen. What I love about it is how generous the cream was. I have had cream puffs before but most of those that I had was more puff pastry than cream. I also love how it was not too sweet.

Pecan Tart

The Pecan Tart was rich and sinfully sweet.

We enjoyed the private lunch hosted by Chef Patrick. As always, the food he prepared and served to us were delicious.

The private dining room is also a great addition to his restaurant. You can host an intimate dinner with your closest friend and family. You may also book the room for you and your special someone for a special date.

The Fat Cow is located along Mabini Extension corner V. Mapa St.
