Enjoying a delicious meal in a garden while chilling in the cool climate of Eden, Toril, Davao City is a perfect way to spend the weekend. During one of my rest days, I visited Jamelle Gardens Café to enjoy just that.
It took a lot of planning to come here considering that it is in Eden, Toril, Davao City. My friend, Beau, was gracious and kind enough to go with me and drive us there.
THE PLACE

I find Jamelle Gardens Café to be a homey and relaxing café. I love how we are surrounded by plants. It is uplifting to see the plants and flowers. I find the garden to be very calming.

When you enter the gate, you are greeted with a pretty large front yard where most of the dining area is. The dining tents also have ample space from one another to ensure social distancing.

At the center of the property is a clubhouse where you order your meals. There are also some seats here for you to dine in. I like the design of the clubhouse with its high ceiling and large windows.
It is the outdoor dining that I love about the café because I like to feel the cool breeze of Eden and the garden just relaxes and destresses me. Also, why would you dine inside the clubhouse at a garden café?
FOOD and BEVERAGE
The cafe’s menu is quite simple. You would be familiar with the kind of dishes they are offering; hence, you would know what you would be getting. With a simple menu, I was hoping that the food would not disappoint and it did not.
For our visit here, I ordered the Humba Rice Meal (P129) while Beau had the Sisig Rice Meal (P129). I also ordered their Lumpiang Shanghai (P169) and Garlic Chicken Wings (P190). For dessert, we had the Ube Flan Cake (P130) and Banana Cake (P85). I also ordered Brewed Coffee (P90) to go with the meal.

The Humba was delicious! I love how tender the pork is. It had a nice balance of sweet and salty. Every spoonful of rice and pork humba was tasty. Ever since that day, I could not help but think about their delicious humba.

Beau seemed to have been satisfied with his sisig. I was not able to try their sisig because I don’t eat sisig (hehehe). But it looked good though.

The lumpia was also tasty. I think many lumpia-lovers will enjoy this.

We also enjoyed the Garlic Chicken Wings. It was bursting with flavors. I love how garlicky and salty it was. The chicken was also juicy.
What impressed me the most about their food is the value for money. For the price I was paying, the portions were generous and the quality of the food was good.

The Ube Leche Flan cake was delicious. I love Leche flan and ube; therefore, I enjoyed this.

The Banana Cake was also delightful to eat. It was moist and not very sweet.

Now the coffee. It was okay. It did temporarily satisfy my need for coffee but I was not a fan of it. Nonetheless, the delicious meal and desserts were more than enough to make up for it.
SERVICE
The service we received was overall good. The staff was friendly and nice. I also like that they know their products well because they were able to describe properly some of the dishes that I asked about.
The waiting time for the food was around 15 to 20 minutes, which is the average waiting time for food in cafes or casual dining restaurants.
I also commend the cafe for observing minimum health standards. The staff was wearing a face mask and face shield to ensure their safety and the customer.
They do not have WiFi when we visited here but why would you need WiFi in such a beautiful cafe like this? Take your photos and videos, then upload them later. For now, enjoy the cafe and savor the delicious food.
BOTTOMLINE
The travel from the central downtown area of Davao City to Jamelle Gardens Café in Eden, Toril was worth it. I find the café to be quite beautiful with the plants and flowers around it. The food was overall good and value for money.
The cafe is great for those who are looking for an escape from the bustling downtown of Davao City or just a place to relax.
I cannot wait to visit them again.
