Last night, me and a couple of friends dropped by The Weekend Market, a monthly themed event organized by Manic Nightnings Production, at the SM Lanang Premier for dinner. This month’s theme is Taste of the Nation, offering Dabawenyos delicious food prepared by Davao City’s local restaurants and some food start-ups.
Knowing that it would be too expensive for me to go alone, I invited a couple of friends so we could pool our resources together and try as many food as possible with the budget we have.
While waiting for two other friends, me and another friend surveyed the food fair to see which food we want to try. We then met with the two other friends at the entrance.
To kick things off, we dropped by at the Lobster Shack. We ordered Grilled Lobster with Cheese and Shrimp Katsu Burger.
We enjoyed the Grilled Lobster with Cheese it was really good and the lobster we had was also wonderfully cooked. The Shrimp Katsu Burger was also good.

Then we dropped by at South Wing and ordered Soy Garlic and Lemon Pepper wings. Both were really good. Personally, I enjoyed the Soy Garlic.

Next, we made our way to Perch and ordered their Poutine. We also ordered the Cheesy Pulled Pork Fries at Pulled Bros, the stall beside Perch. Again, both orders were really good. The Poutine was cheesy and the sauce was flavorful while the pulled pork on the
Cheesy Pulled Pork Fries was tasty as well.

After stuffing ourselves with savory meals, we dropped by at Coco and Nuts for desserts. The dessert they offer is their homemade ice cream in a coconut with marshmallows, coconut meat, and nuts. We ordered all three of their flavors, Matcha, Ube-Langka, and Mango. All three were great and make a refreshing dessert on a warm Thursday night. Personally, I enjoyed the Matcha the most.

Lastly, to quench our thirsts, we stopped by Tita Rosita’s for Chillers and ordered all three of their flavors, Blue Lemonade, Pink Pomelo, and Green Apple.

There are still a lot of great food to try at the fair like the barbecue and skewers of Jalan Loklok or the burgers of The Griddle. I’m sure food lovers and other Dabawenyos will have a great time here.
To be able to fully enjoy most of the delicious food offered here, I suggest you go as a group so you guys can pool your resources together and be able to taste as much food as you can. Also avoid rice so you don’t get full quickly. Be sure to also have a bottle of water on hand as you go from stall to stall.
In terms of pricing, the cost of the food and beverages here ranges from below P100 and can go to as much as P400+.
